Survey answers on an ordered scale, one row per question, diverging around a centre, with the treatment of the middle answer stated rather than assumed.
The middle answer is your call
Split it at the centre and the centre line means half the answers lie to the left. Keep it on the right and the centre separates disagreement from everything else. Leave it out and the shares are rebased on the people who took a side. No reading is right for every survey, so the chart says which one it took.
Colours that follow the scale
An answer scale is ordered, so its colours are a diverging ramp along that order and not five unrelated hues handed out alphabetically. Sort the questions by agreement or by disagreement and the totals beside each bar follow.
A short bar is not a small sample
The bars are shares, and questions are rarely answered by the same number of people, so the respondent count sits beside each one and the chart says when the counts differ. Type the scale order when the field sorts alphabetically; a typo cannot make a response disappear.
