End-User License Agreement

This EULA covers your use of any Dataskera viz extension installed in Tableau (the "Software").

By installing, activating, or using the Software (with or without a Dataskera account) you accept this EULA. If you don't accept it, don't install or use the Software.

This version 3.1 supersedes the Beta EULA (v2.0) for all use from the effective date. The Beta EULA remains available for the record at /eula-beta.

1. Who we are

Dataskera, a French limited liability company (EURL), SIREN 991 710 070, registered office at 1 rue Marguerin, 75014 Paris, France. Full entity details in the Terms of Service. Contact: contact@dataskera.com.

2. License

For extensions we designate as Free (currently: the Waffle Chart), we grant you a license that is:

  • free of charge;
  • non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable;
  • worldwide;
  • revocable in case of breach of this EULA;
  • restricted to internal business use within your own Tableau environment.

We intend to keep Free extensions free. We may stop distributing or updating a Free extension in the future, but that never retroactively revokes the license for versions you already use.

Extensions offered as paid products are licensed under separate commercial terms communicated at purchase; this EULA applies to them except where those terms say otherwise.

3. Accounts, Desktop use, and viewers

  • Some capabilities require a Dataskera account, governed by the Terms of Service.
  • On Tableau Desktop you may use Free extensions without an account; your use of the Software still constitutes acceptance of this EULA.
  • People who only view dashboards containing the Software (Tableau viewers) do not need an account and are never blocked by our license checks. If you share dashboards containing the Software with others, you are responsible for their use complying with this EULA.

4. What you may not do

You agree not to:

  1. modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Software;
  2. reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it (except where Art. L.122-6-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code allows it for interoperability);
  3. resell, rent, redistribute, or sublicense it;
  4. remove or alter copyright, trademark, or version notices;
  5. circumvent, disable, or interfere with the license check or any technical protection;
  6. extract, copy, reuse, or share any license token, key, or credential embedded in or associated with the Software or any workbook, or access the Software using a license or token not validly issued to you;
  7. use the Software to build a competing product;
  8. use it in life-critical environments (medical, aerospace, nuclear, weapons), where a failure could cause harm.

Any use that circumvents, or attempts to circumvent, our licensing system or the restrictions above is unauthorized and constitutes a material breach. Breach automatically terminates the license.

5. Beta features

Where a feature or extension is explicitly marked Beta, you additionally acknowledge that it may contain bugs, change, or be withdrawn without notice, and that you use it at your own risk; test in non-critical environments first.

6. Your data stays yours: we never see it

Dataskera does not collect, store, or transmit any data you visualize in Tableau through the Software.

The Software runs entirely inside the Tableau Extensions API sandbox, on your machine. Cell values, measures, dimensions, field names, queries, dashboards, and workbook content stay in your Tableau environment.

The only network call the Software makes to our servers is to verify your license. That's it. No telemetry, no usage tracking, no data exfiltration. Details in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Software is protected by copyright. Dataskera and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights. This EULA grants you the right to use the Software, not ownership of it. The product names and logos are our trademarks.

8. No warranties

The Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind: no merchantability, no fitness for a particular purpose, no warranty against hidden defects, no warranty of compatibility with any current or future version of Tableau, no guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage: loss of data, loss of profit, business interruption, or damage caused by decisions made on the basis of visualizations produced with the Software.
  • Our total liability under this EULA, all claims combined, is capped at the greater of one hundred euros (EUR 100) or the amounts you paid us for the Software in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing here limits our liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence, or bodily injury, as required by French law.

10. Termination

This EULA applies for as long as you use the Software. We may terminate it upon breach. On termination: the license ends, you stop using the Software and uninstall it. Sections 6 (data), 7 (IP), 8 (warranties), 9 (liability), and 12 (governing law) survive.

11. Changes

If we change this EULA materially, we'll notify account holders by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and may ask you to accept the new version at your next sign-in. Continued use of the Software after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Version history:

  • v3.1 (August 10, 2026): explicit anti-circumvention terms — no extracting, reusing, or sharing license tokens or keys, and no use of a license not issued to you.
  • v3.0 (August 9, 2026): covers the permanent Free tier (no longer Beta-limited); Desktop use without an account and viewer responsibility made explicit; Beta terms narrowed to features explicitly marked Beta.
  • v2.0 (April 25, 2026): Beta EULA (archived).

12. Governing law

This EULA is governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
